And some more bits and pieces coming together...

Breasthook blanks came back.  Supposed to be bookmatched, but the guy didn't quite cut them right.  On the bright side, he gave me about 10 board feet of 4/4 ipe because he wasn't planning on using it!  Whoot!

Port side inwales are tapered and cut to length.  Starboard side just lack tapering.  Here's a pic of the port side dry fit.

...and the starboard side dry fit.

All covered and baking.  Did not have enough clamps to do both outwales at once, so I used a tiny space heater to accelerate the curing process.  Ended up waiting a full day anyway to put the second one on, but I figured it couldn't hurt, so I'm cooking the whole mess together.  Almost certainly less than the prescribed 120ºF, but much higher than the ambient temp in the basement.

On a note related to a current thread, the inwales are tapered from 1 1/8 inch in the middle of the boat, to 1/2 inch on the ends (Scuppers are cut 1/2 inch into the inwales).  The outwales are tapered from 1 inch in the middle to 3/4 inch on the ends.  I will post pics of the finished product for you to decide how you like the effect.

And there they are! (have since planed down the whole thing to a nice fair line with the hull and gunwales flush with each other)

Whoot!  I cut a rolling bevel!  And it fits!  Had to bevel the bottoms of the seat risers to fit the hull. Attached the risers to the seats, dropped the seats in place, scribed the bevel on the ends, connected the dots and planed it down. I still can't believe I did it right!  Pics soon. (^_^)
looks like it's ready for you to have your first bath in it!

Looks a beautiful job, I've been thinking that this could be my next build!

Rolling bevels are intimidating, but not especially hard. You've done what you had to, pick up the bevel at a few points and literally connect the dots. Now that you've done a few, they'll come easier. Way to go Will . . .
Thanks!  You can see the bevels here.  This is the dry fit.  Drywall screws will be replaced by some nicer looking ones in the final fit and I'll be adding some bracing to the underside of the middle two seats. [Image: 69633_10151538544467952_705814476_n.jpg]
Final glue-up of the risers.  Seats are being finished on the bench and will be removable for cleaning and maintenance.

Wasn't planning on posting till I made some more substantial progress.

....and then this happened  >Sad

Was routing a nice bullnose on the outwale and apparently I hit a stressed hairline fracture.  I didn't know what had happened until the router had chewed up about 2" of the splinter.  I can epoxy it back together, but I might have to paint the outwale at least to cover up where I'll need to fill.  Disappointing because I was planning on finishing this bright.  Sad
