I have an old Magma grill that I bought in about 97 I used it for a year or so then stored it waiting for my boat to be built. When I went to use it after the launch the regulator valve was pouring propane into the grill and when I lit it up it almost lit me up. I sent an email to Magma about the problem a week ago and today waiting on my doorstep was a new replacement regulator free of charge. I'm cooking with gas again. I'm glad to say that Magma stands behind their products and anyone who is considering purchasing a grill for their boat I recommend Magma poducts.

It is always a great feeling to find a company with such integrity. It is also quite sad how unusual it is anymore. Most times you spend hours of time punching numbers to get through ridiculously involved teleprompters, just to reach some jacka$$ who isn't even qualified to speak on the phone...Not that I have an opinion Smile

It is SO unusual, that even though I don't need a stove, I'm considering buying one anyway.

Good to hear good ol' customer service winning one for a change.

Keith - write this up in the review section of the website. It is just the sort of thing that belongs there.
I've still found it cooks TOO hot. When you are ready, head out to the nearest camper place and buy a good regulator for it. You'll like it even more. 8)

i dont mean to sound cynical, but having worked in the appliance repair business a lot of years my gut feeling is that the reason they responded so promptly is because it was a safety issue. it not worth a regulator to risk a lawsuit. if you had said they responded so well after the handle cracked or the lid hinge snapped, id be impressed if they didnt tell you to pound sand :?
im not sayin', im just sayin'. ya know what im sayin'?
Hi Angie,
you are right about the magama cooking hot, but with the new regulator they sent me it seems to have a lot more adjustment then it did before. They redisigned the regulator and it came with a new venturi tube as well. I haven't tried it out other than lighting it up, but I'll let you know how it works. Who knows maybe I'll make you dinnner in FL.

Yahoo! How could a gal pass up an offer like that! 8)

My Magma is probably 10 years old, sounds like they may have improved the regulator. I've replaced the guts a few times, they are tough little grills that hold up well in the marine environment.

Sounds like you are getting the s/v Whipporwill all tricked out. Smile
