Here's a very simple tool that you can make in order to sand curves smooth. It works very well for both inside and outside curves. Take a belt sander belt, whichever size you have on hand and cut a very thin piece of masonite or other flexible material to fit inside the belt. Now you can just bend it into the the curve while you sand. It works great
