I started my Vacationer in the fall of 2002 and have been monitoring this board ever since. Off course when I first started I fully intended to have it finished by spring. But life got in the way I met a lot of folks on this board .Most of them are gone now and I miss them. Angie is still here Norman, Jim and several others I often think about them . What happens to old boat builders. Guess they just sail away. I have kept my boat in the garage and there has not been a day that I haven' talked to her. I stand in awe of my achievment and skill " Wow! how did I ever do this" I touch my boat ;something I have created ; revererently. I think this has been one of the great accomplishments in my life. I might even finish her in the next few years. It doesn"t matter You see I,m a man with a dream " A man with a boat in the garage"

oh yeah, i remember old Ferd. glad to hear youre still at it. keep talking to her, she'll make sure you finish her. i still talk to my CEILI when shes in the garage off-season. not every day though. if i do that, then my wife is gonna want me to talk to her every day :roll: .........

It sounds like your boat is doing the same thing mine did. I finally pushed myself into working on her every chance I had and she's mostly complete. I launched back in september 05. It was a lot of work to get done but when you get her out on the water and heads are turning to look at your boat, it makes it all worth while. I hope to see some launch photos in the near future.

Ferd, the first boat I built was a little skiff I named "The Spirit of Gimli", after my hometown. My mom, aunts and uncles were all involved in the fishing industry and if you've ever been to the Icelandic musem, many are mentioned there.
