Full Version: Help needed - MySQL

Our old forums were running on a MySQL database as an integral part of our PostNuke website structure. While we can access the messages individually (all 15000+ of them), we need to figure out a way to import them into a PHPBB2 forum or make them available via a searchable web application.

If you have any ideas or would like to take on this project, please let me know. (This is worth a significant amount of pirate grog or other booty!)
my only thought would be to see if you can export from mysql as a .csv file and them import into php.

again, just a thought, not sure if it would work or not. or even if you can export.

If I export to CSV, the links to the topics will be lost - not desirable although it could work as a last resort.

Ahoy Richard,

As I understand it, you want to transfer data from a MySQL to a PHPBB2 forum, but retain topic links.

Is that correct?

I have written an engineer from graduate school. If it can be done, he will know how to do it.
I will also ask some of the technicians at the college.
In both cases, the database is MySQL. The table names are a bit different and the structure might be slightly different as well.
Pop,

;-) Duffy [ And yes. I do stuff like this ]

My software Engineer son says this will work. If necessary I can put you in touch with him by phone.
