What is the big advanced of using a Clubfoot on the Weekender vs no Clubfoot at all. By accident I did not use the Clubfoot due to a failed spring clip.
I seemed to get better performance without using it. Could just be me you know.

You answered your own question - with = easy, sloppy & lazy, without = a bit more work, better performance and one more line to deal with.
If you're just going for laid back sailing, the clubfoot is fine.
If you want better performance, use conventional jib sheets and do without the clubfoot - you'll be able to trim and control shape better.
