Ahoy mates,
I am building a Weekender. I used to own a Triton sailboat and did a lot of work restoring it. We moved down to Hilton Head, SC and left the Triton to a family member in New Jersey. I needed to sail and enjoy working with wood. After a search of project boats I decided on the Weekender. It has been a fun project. I did modify the boat to include a tiller rather than the wheel. In the shallow waters down here I thought that I needed and faster response in the steering. I also modified the cabin hatch cover slides separated from the handrails. I am finishing up some of the deck details and then will work on the mast and rigging.
I need to purchase a trailer. Can someone tell me how long and what to look for when purchasing?
