There is an Albin Vega 27 in Lynden Washington (near Bellingham) for sale at the Sailboat Wrecking Yard. Itâs definitely a project but well worth saving. Time is short! If the yard doesnât have a buyer by the end of this week itâs slated for demolition for parts. It would be a real shame for this very seaworthy craft to suffer this fate.
I went to see it today and it appears to be structurally sound, albeit with lots of surface crazing. The mast and standing rigging seems to be in pretty good shape, and the interior woodwork, while dirty, is otherwise in good condition, except for the sole panels. I was tempted to buy it myself but Iâm still working on another project and donât really have the room at this time.
If youâre interested, hereâs the craigslist ad:

Donât let this worthy vessel suffer the indignity of the scrap heap! If youâre looking for a restoration project, this will do nicely. But hurry!
