I've used this trick for may years and recently put a new bulkhead in an old boat. The boat had built down sections, so big reverse curves and lots of shape to get just right. The Joggle stick to the rescue. This is a file I include with all my plans, but thought I might share here.
It's really handy when trying to pick up a shape for seat box partitions, bulkheads or pretty much any shape you want, like the exact outlines of a plywood panel that will become planking.
