so on the video, there was mention of a channel for the keel to ride in on the trailer. seems like a good idea, is this what most people are doing? if so, do you line it with carpet, any tips?

Here is a picture of Ginny Rae's land home. I have since removed the carpet from the bunks and replaced it with melted wax dripped into and on it and in the keel guide. It allows the boat to slide on and off better.

Greg does the wood with wax scratch the paint at all?  Your design has elements I find attractive, number one being simplicity, something I unfortunately conspire against at times.
