Nice boat, nice video, enjoyed the music as well. Warms my frozen arctic heart to see open water
You really should have let Suzie take the helm - she'd have showed you guys how it's doneÂ
Probably so...I was wandering all over the place, but then I wasn't paying too much attention at first. And we didn't listen to our own advice: tighten up the steering rope! It got pretty slack and that was making round-ups a bit interesting. I am quite curious to try a wire-rope version. We had tiller steering on our second Weekender (the one in Hawaii) and it was nice and fast, as tillers are, but I still really like the extra space in the cockpit with the wheel and the ability to adjust the drag on the shaft too act as a semi-becket. Handy, I think.
Thanks for the kind comments (I didn't do anything at all on this one, as Peter built it this past Summer and Fall and I wasn't around to help; all his doing!)

Mike could you elaborate on the trolling motor set up. Great boat
Sure, no problem. We posted a page with info about the way we like to set up our trolling motors awhile ago. I think I first posted the page more than ten and probably not more than 15 years ago...It's ready for an update and Peter's been talking about putting together a small plan for his new mount.
Here's the first page:

and a second page with a few more thoughts we posted in 2000 or so:

The second page notes that we prefer gel-cell batteries. We did, but now I'd be tempted to get a nice AGM type battery. The last high-quality battery I got was a gel-cell, though, so I guess we still like 'em!
