Could someone tell me a basic bill of materials for the Weekender and the Pocket Cruiser.  I want to budget this boat over time.  I am primarily interersted in the expected numbers of plywood sheets and amount of dimensional lumber.

Thanks

You may also find that you will gain a significant amount of information on suitable woods from the following site.  http://www.glen-l.com/

Mike:  I understand your desire to buget purchases over time, but be aware of how significant shipping charges can be, and try to consolidate.  For instance... you can order the plywood as one order, but combine the epoxy, tape and cloth in one order to save a bunch of bucks on shipping.  For example,  shipping cost for fiberglass cloth for the Weekender is about $30.  If combined with epoxy et. al., significantly  less.

I am able to get to a lumber supplier http://www.harborsales.net and they deliver for free...have their own fleet of trucks and stock marine grade ply.  I can buy a sheet at a time and not upset the budget.  If you live within about 125 miles of Baltimore, MD and factor in no shipping costs, their prices are real good.  They have a good reputation on the eastern shore of MD where a fair amount of wooden boats are built.

The local Home Despot carries some reasonably good quality fir, so shipping costs are not such a factor.  I can get West epoxy at a local retailer for close to online costs.
