Do you also install screws through the bottom of the boat to mount seat stringers? Putting holes in the side and bottom of the boat makes me squeemish...although I guess with expanding gorilla glue used and fiberglass over the screws, it is probably not an issue...
I screwed and glued the stringers for the seats down into the bottom using screws too short to penetrate. Don't like holes in the bottom!
AMEN! The stringers will be held securely by the Gorilla Glue or other adhesive. The screws really just hold them in place while it sets. And yes the glass and resin will cover the ones on the sides and they shouldn't be an issue if they are galvanized or stainless.
