Greetings,

The good news ... it just stopped snowing in Chicago ... again.

The bad news ... It's -18 F and the wind chill is on the low side of -35 F.

Lake Michigan is frozen over out at least two miles from shore as here's a recent photo from the Harrison Crib weather station.  Clearly you could walk back to shore from here.

Just in case anybody actually noticed, the skyline looks a little different this year. Chicago now has four ~ 100 story buildings.  That one just left of center is the new Trump Tower, finished by the Donald just before it got cold.

Strange weather all over, we had average of -40 for past month and a half. Things are now turning around -10c today, maybe above freezing by Monday. Likely won't last too long. I favor winters of -20 to -25, good for ice roads on the lakes, and not too cold for outdoor activities, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing.

That's quite the weather you have down there, I suspect things can only warm up from those lows.
