I have been looking at outboard motor brackets on Ebay. Some say, for example, that they are rated for 2 stroke motors only up to 115 lbs. If you have a 4 stroke motor that weighs less than 115 lbs., would a bracket like this work? or is there some other factor that has to be taken into account when supporting a 4 stroke motor?
It is just the weight - a 10hp 4 stroke weighs a lot more than a 10hp 2 stroke. Folks are used to mounts stating 5hp or 10hp and don't tend to consider the weight difference.

Thanks Norman; I figured it had to be the weight rather than excess vibration since 4 strokes would, if anything, vibrate less.
