Hi folks,

I got my Garmin 276c last week. What a nice unit it is, it has full color charts, maps and slew of other features. I've been playing around with it in my truck. It came with a 12v adapter that has a speaker on it. As you drive down the road a nice woman tell you where and when to turn. If you don't go where she tells you to go, she doesn't even get mad....I know thats hard to imagine. She just recalculates the route so you still get where you told her you wanted to go.
It also has tide data, fish and game forcasts, and I have the eastern us lake charts and fishing hot spots on the way to me.
If any of you are concidering a GPS I highly recomend this unit. It's big enough to see and small enough to take with you

That unit sounds great! I have the relatively inexpensive Garmin strictly for driving and am kinda jealous of yours now that I know you can get multipurpose ones. I do love the unit I have with its touch screen and intuitive interface (read made so even a complete idiot or technophobe can use it). It is nice how she doesn't get made no matter how many turns you miss! Worked great leaving an Atlanta Braves game. We told it we wanted to go home and it had the route all ready once the police got done routing us to who knows where. Glad that GPS is really dropping in price and increasing in features!

My wife surprised me last year with a Magellan eXplorist 200. It is a very basic hand held unit, and I haven't taken time explore all of its functionality yet, but it has served well for what I have been using it for. My one dissapointment in it is it has no interface capabilities.
