Thirty years later, my second reading of "Sailing Alone Around the World"is enjoying the virtuality of Google Earth. With laptop at my side I follow Capt. Slocum's voyage on the globe, enhanced by an overlay lat/long grid and the ability to enter the name of a port of call, watching the screen then zoom into the very spot! Capt. Slocum would likely bestow on me a title, such as "Bass Pond Whaler" :lol: ,but it makes for enjoyable reading!
