I like the way my cabin and forward hatches look glassed (not painted). Will the sun beat it up because of no pigment? If so, I will paint, if not, I like the natural wood look.

What about just epoxy (no cloth) on real wood (like the trailboards)? Will the sun beat that up?

the answer is yes. Don't leave epoxy or fiberglass untreated and exposed to the elements. Epoxy breaks down very quickly under UV exposure.

You don't have to use paint, though. Use a spar varnish or urethane to cover it with. There are many brands that offer a clear coat of these finish products.
