I have just bought sail ties from a man on the internet. They have plastic snap buckles with 1" nylon straps that you can snug up tight. They are also easier to put on than rope. Our boats need about 8 ties. they came as a set of 4 with various lengths. He told me he also makes other custom sailboat canvas products.
