I need some advise on selecting an air mattress. Because of my arthritis I am going to need a mattress that is close to 20" off the floor. My question is how much will the extra high mattress sink in when I try to get in or out with my 300 + pounds? :? I have even thought of building a knock down bed with a 6" mattress. Any and all advise is needed quick.

Ed - if it's not for inside the boat, there are collapsable beds available that fold up and have an air-mattress on the top. You'll have to shop around for a bit for one that will manage a "full sized" guy like yourself. If it's for inside the boat - I'd worry about headroom and the feet damaging the hull.

I am through trying to sleep on my boat, too cramped.
