How do you make Winter go by quick?
Answer; Build a boat or two

This winter has flown by; my neighbor had the idea of building a nesting pram for his boat (a 44’ Kelly Peterson)
after designing the hull and making models he came up with this. The center board and mast step were added for future.
The boat can be disassembled and stern placed in the bow portion. Both sections are held together with 6 bolts.

The kayak construction is finished, and now ready for varnish.

Nice work Karl. Is there some sort of gasket that keeps the water out between the hulls?

Keith
Really nice! I have built kayaks that take apart and bolt together, and used a thin gasket of neopreme. On a boat like this I bet you could keep the bolts mostly above the loaded water line so would only worry about a trickle now and then.
There is a double bulkhead at the point of seperation. It is like bolting two boats together. The bolts have 2" SS fender washers W/full face gaskets.
Leakage should be at minimum.
When it's painted and in the water I'll have more pictures.
