I was checking out Terry Peterson's Introduction thred and he supplied a web link to Dave Carnell's Boat building Page. http://www.angelfire.com/nc3/davecarnell/
(Thats the main page) I did not want to hijack the thred so I posted here.
I was checking out the website when I found this article by Dave Carnel
about treating wood rot with Antifreeze, and I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this. If it is true it would be most beneficial, for our boats.
Heres a link to it...

(Thanks for the link Terry)

The internet truely is the modern Oracle at Delphi. Imagine trying to track down such diverse information without a good search engine.

The time and effort Carnell has put into testing certainly give a high level of confidence to his ideas. If I read his observations and opinions correctly it would seem that an annual or perhaps semi-annual application of antifreeze to your boat or at least a suspected areas of your boat seems like a good idea?

(Brian feel free to hi-jack any of my topics. I think discussions are like trees whose branches of logic are true inspirations and shouldn't be ignored.)
If it weren't for the internet, i surely wouldn't be building my Vacationer right now thats for sure. Big Grin
It kills the micro organisms but the wood remains soft. That is what is so great about penetrating epoxy.... stops the rot and makes it hard as wood pecker lips.
"woodpecker lips" good one.
So I should just stick with the cpes then and I should be ok?
