The Coots â a boat building group that operates up and down the Willamette Valley â had the Summer Solstice messabout last weekend. I took my Weekender up and tested her out. I bought my boat â95% completeâ last summer and restored her. This was my 3rd trip on the water, and the longest by far.
It was 6 miles downriver to the messabout site, then a couple of friends came aboard and we took off for the town of St Helens, which ended up being 12 miles downriver, not the 5 miles we expected.
It was a fantastic trip. I cannot even begin to express how happy I am with the performance and stability of my Weekender.

Our next event is cruising the San Juan islands from Bellingham to Sucia Island. I am really looking forward to it.
